With increasing environmental regulations and growing awareness of climate protection, reducing emissions has become a central focus for businesses. Sustainability is no longer a trend but a necessity to remain competitive. The demand for transparency and accurate monitoring of CO2 emissions is rising—especially in the transport sector, one of the largest emitters globally.

To support businesses in tracking and optimizing their CO₂ balance, the Cruise Control customer portal has been expanded with a new CO₂ module. This module enables a detailed analysis of the CO₂ emissions for each shipment. Emissions are calculated as CO₂ equivalents in tons per kilometer traveled, allowing companies to closely monitor the environmental footprint of their transportation activities and identify areas for improvement.

One Module, Two Analytical Perspectives: Key Features of the New Module

  1. Emissions by Transport Mode: The module distinguishes between emissions from different transport modes—truck, ocean, rail, and barge —helping to identify specific optimization opportunities for each mode of transport.
  2. Emissions by Transport Segment: CO₂ emissions are broken down by the individual transport segments—pre-carriage, main leg, and on-carriage. Additionally, a total sum of all segments and transport modes is provided, giving a comprehensive view of the overall emissions for a shipment.

The new CO₂ module is designed to help customers achieve their sustainability goals and identify cost-saving opportunities. For those interested in benefiting from the emissions analysis, please contact the Customer Solutions Team to have the module activated for your account.
